The sun was rising and could now be seen above the tree line. we had to stop as the bus could go no further, the rest of the way had to be taken on foot. It slowed us down with the human pace, so luca offered to carry her much to my dismay, i did not like the idea of her being so close to him. Sensing my agonize he placed his hand against my cheek “we need to move faster so we still have the sun”. he told me and i knew this was true and simply nodded. Luca turned to cleo and held out his hand which she took with a bit of caution and curiosity on her face. “ just hold on tight and close your eyes it will be over before you know it” he told her then he swung her up onto his back with as much ease as an empty back pack and we all set off running. We reached the clearing shortly afterwards.

In the middle of a clearing stood a dilapidated building that would of once been a very beautiful house. The windows all were blacked out and the door was boarded over. No human had lived here in a long time. The two storey house looked like it was once a plantation house with a large wrap around porch and shutters on the windows but now it was run down and the shutters were hanging off their hinges. The paint was peeling off the walls and the once beautiful lawn was covered in over grown grass and weeds and flowers. New trees had sprouted up and it looked like the house had been dropped here by accident. Spreading out to cover every point of attack the group got ready as Vincent took point. “ruby how many do you see” he asked her but before she could answer cleo replied “there are fifteen and one human but the human has been bitten and is turning”. Vincent and ruby both looked at her, cleo just tapped her temple “vampire senses remember” Vincent’s lips pulled into a tight line not sure if he should laugh at the untimely joke or not, he chose not to and he turned back towards the house. He left the group and walked forward to the house taking out a lighter and a can of lighter fluid from his long black coat pocket. He then proceeded to set the building on fire from several points. Returning back into formation he called to us all to be ready. Crouched down and ready to fight we all waited for it to begin.
